This season saw us continue the trend of slightly less engagements, mainly due to us limiting weekend engagements to just one day, and that in turn mainly to ease the strain on family commitments. I think it has worked well for us. Also, after four seasons with myself at the helm and a very dedicated Committee, we have established a good financial grounding for the band, which helps considerably in this respect. The school continues to be a great asset to us, and although we have, at least temporarily, retreated from Wyvern Barracks, we should not forget their vital help to us at a time when the band was struggling financially. When security details and practice committments permit, I'm sure our link with Wyvern will return. Thank you Wyvern! Links with other bands in the SW continue to be strengthened and long may the SW Massed Bands events be popular undertakings. The AGM this year saw the band present me with an engraved quaich in thanks for my efforts and direction over recent years. I'm honoured that the band should do this. All I can do is thank everyone in the band, and especially the committee, for making the plans come to fruition. The AGM also heralded the first ever contest for the post of QM in the entire history of the band. The vote went to Scott Davidson, who is keen to fully engage in the role. As such coming seasons should see some significant improvements in kit. Brrrrrrilliant!  P/M Colin Opie
