This season saw us maintain the trend of slightly less engagements, mainly due to us limiting weekend engagements to just one day, and that in turn mainly to ease the strain on family commitments. In fact a few more engagements were attended than are shown, but serviced with a mini-band instead of the full band. I continue to think it has worked well for us, though the 2011 season is likely to see a slight increase in engagements due to a bigger and more versatile band. Our finances are in good order and thanks to our new QM, Sue Robertson, we will be updating certain elements of uniform in readiness for the new season. We still continue to use just the school, but we retain a loose contact with Wyvern for mutual benefit. Links with other bands in the SW continue to be strengthened and long may the SW Massed Bands events be popular undertakings. The AGM this year saw a desire to promote and develop a more advanced group within the band, not as a separate band, but as a goal for achievement for those players wishing to exercise their fingers a little more. Additionally we have the opportunity to show off a little Highland Dancing thanks to a keen young dancer who has been out with us a few times this season. The coming season should see these endeavours in action a little more as we perform at various engagements.  P/M Colin Opie
