Who are we?
All our pipers and drummers are volunteers and the band is
managed by an elected committee under the rules of the
Constitution. We are also
always open to receiving new members and once you are at a
level suitable for playing with the band, you will be
supplied with uniform as appropriate. The band is proud to
be the only pipe band officially entitled to bear the Coat
of Arms of the City of Exeter, Devon, United Kingdom.
More about the Band
We are an independent civilian band playing the
Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe with Drums. The tartan of The
City of Exeter Pipes & Drums is that of Robertson, and the
pipe bag colours as shown in the image on the left. Look out
for us in the streets, carnivals and fairs of the South West.We
practice at Wyvern Barracks, Exeter every Wednesday between
7:30pm and 9:30pm, and are very grateful to the Rifles
(Devonshire & Dorset Regiment) for the use of their
facilities. See us at the barracks during their Open Day in
August, or contact us for an
invitation visit to a practice session if you are interested in
joining the band.
